What is RTI? How can you apply for RTI?

RTI stands For Right to Information. This is a Fundamental Right of every Indian who wants information from government offices, departments, ministries and other organizations which runs by the Government of India.
Any person who wants information will have to fill Form A or in any other format given by State Public Officer of State Assistant Public Information officer as the case may be of fee of Rs.10 with his application.
A person who is below poverty line can claim exemption for the fees but he has to produce a valid certificate issued by the concerned authority.
Information in any form , including records, documents, memos, emails, opinions, advices, press releases, circulars, orders, logbooks, contracts, reports, papers, samples, models, data material held in any electronic form and information relating to any private body which can be accessed by a public authority under any other law.
What rights are available under RTI Act 2005?

- Take copies of any government documents
- Inspect any government documents.
- Inspect any Government works
- Take samples of materials of any Government work
All private bodies, which are owned, controlled or substantially financed by the Government are
directly covered. Others are indirectly covered. That is, if a government department can access information from any private body under any other Act, the same can be accessed by the citizen under
the RTI Act through that government department.
