Project Cheetah In India

In Sep 2022 Eight African Cheetah were brought to India from Namibia. After few months, 12 more Cheetah brought to India again from South Africa. They were kept in Kuno National Park situated in Madhya Pradesh. India is trying to Revive Cheetah since Nov 2009. Media shows proudly this moment when they brought to India but no one knows the current status of these Cheetah right now. How are they no one is bothering. You must be surprised to know that 6 out of 20 Imported Cheetah are dead. What is the reason behind the death of these Imported Cheetah? These Cheetah were brought to India on our PM Narendra Modi’s birthday. At the time of Akbar era there were 1000 Cheetah. In 1952 Cheetah is declared as extinct animal by Indian Government. The reason behind extinction of Cheetah are –
- Hunting as Hobby
- For Photography ( Photo with dead cheetah was an achievement )
- To make Trophy
- Habitat Loss due to increase of agriculture land
- GPS signal radio collars
- Lack of shelters
- Lack of space or land Area for Cheetah ( One Cheetah need 100 square Km )
