Dog breeds banned by the government in India

It has been seen that dog attack cases are increasing day by day. The Central Government has asked to state government to ban dangerous breeds of dog because their attack can cause to human deaths.

These banned dog breeds are around 23, their names are Pitbull, Rottweiler, Terrier, Mastiffs and their cross breeds. These dogs breeds are very dangerous and their attack can cause to human deaths.

Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying has sent a letter to all states and to local bodies to refrain giving licenses or permits to people for the sale or breeding of these “banned” dogs. Those who have already these banned dogs, they have to sterilise them to prevent their breeding.

Here is the complete list of banned dogs in India by central government-

  1. Pitbull Terrier
  2. Tosa Inu
  3. American Staffordshire Terrier
  4. Fila Brasileiro
  5. Dogo Argentino
  6. American bulldog
  7. Boerboel
  8. Kangal
  9. Central Asian Shepherd Dog
  10. Caucasian Shepherd Dog
  11. South Russian Shepherd
  12. Tornjak
  13. Sarplaninac
  14. Japanese Tosa and Akita
  15. Mastiffs
  16. Rottweiler
  17. Terriers
  18. Rhodesian Ridgeback
  19. Wolf dogs
  20. Canario
  21. Akbash dog
  22. Moscow Guard dog
  23. Cane Corso

So if you have any one dog breed mention in the list go and sterilise them to stop breeding.
